Computer graphics is a creation of images or animation with the use of the computer.
At present, it is difficult even to imagine a process of designing anything without resorting to computer graphics. Design of business cards and thick glamour magazines, design of matchboxes and concert platforms, creation of special effects in the cinema and animation – all are made with the help of computer graphics.
The FirstField studio was established as a computer graphics studio. It has been successfully operating in this domain for more than four years. Multitude of projects has been completed in different areas with the use of multiple computer graphics technologies.
In cooperation with TV channels, the FirstField studio produces computer graphics for TV programs. Thus, the Studio created a caption for the oldest and best-known TV show The Travelers’ Club. Computer graphics, used for the Serving the Homeland design, is used to demonstrate 3D models of armaments and equipment; it was also used for making captions and titles. The TV broadcasting of the award ceremony of the winners of the III All-Russia national award Radiomania-2004 was designed with the help of the FirstField studio computer graphics. The Studio also made computer graphics for the Hatch short film by Alexander Kessel, for the Detali (Details) TV show, for a reel for the Wait for Me TV show, it also prepared special effects and animations for the Muz-TV channel logo.
During the active stage of the Last Hero teleplay, the Studio implemented projects connected with computer graphics – design, captions, titles, special effects. Thanks to a high quality computer graphics the Last Hero-4. End of the Game show was awarded the highest award at Pixel: 2004, the II Festival of Digital Art in the Best Package of TV Show Design nomination.
Production of commercials is characterized by widest use of computer graphics. Thus, creation of commercials for the Supermag shop chain, the Aeroflot airline company, a well-known Apple computer company were completely based on 3D-graphics, almost excluding shooting on location. Computer graphics was used for video reels for a number of publications, such as National Geographic.
At present, one can only theoretically produce a video clip without resorting to computer graphics. It is also almost impossible to find a recently made computer graphics-free music clip. The FirstField studio has gained experience in music video clip production, both production in general and production of computer graphics only. The Studio made video editing and computer graphics for the Premier-Minister group video clip for the Two Diamonds of Three Carats Each song. The Studio made all computer graphics and designed a Web site for the Harsh Rap video clip. Elements of graphic design of this clip can be seen on the streets of Moscow together with the Pepsi advertisements.
The corporate video production technology is almost identical to that of production of commercials and music clips. That is why computer graphics is also widely used in production of corporate video. For graphic design of the summation ceremony of the Germany through eyes of Russians contest of TV projects computer graphics with the use of 3D-modeling was prepared. And modern computer graphics in the video reel of the presentation of the Golden Verb contest made the presentation bright and memorable.
With a wide use of computers production of animated cartoons and animations became entirely based on computer graphics, be it traditional relaying animation technology or modern 3D-animation. The FirstField studio finished production of the animated cartoon films called Head over Heels on a Rainbow, which includes such films as Ears, Scarecrow, How Animals Chase Each Other. The project was supported by the Federal Agency on Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Federal targeted program Culture of Russia 2001—2005.
